What is this beverage, exactly?
It’s a craft-made sparkling seltzer infused with hemp-derived THC. It’s non-alcoholic, lightly flavored, lightly sweetened, and designed for a relaxing, social buzz without the hangover.
Where can I buy Thought Bubbles?
You can always buy it in cans to go from our taproom (no draft). We are currently rolling it out to retailers across the Chicago area and then the rest of IL so stay tuned.
Can I drink it at the taproom?
Unfortunately not yet. There are various insurance liability issues in play, so for the time being we will only sell 4-packs to go. No draft, no consumption in the taproom.
Does Alarmist make this or do you have a 3rd party to make it for you?
Damn straight we do. We develop, produce, and package ALL of our beers and beverages. No copacking/outsourcing. And our flavorings are sourced and produced right here in Chicago.
What’s the difference between hemp-derived THC and cannabis-derived THC?
Chemically, they’re the same. The only difference is the source: hemp-derived THC is extracted from federally legal hemp plants, while cannabis-derived THC comes from marijuana plants, which are still regulated differently state by state.
Will this get me high?
It’s more like a gentle lift. Our dosage is designed to be mellow, social, and manageable — you won’t be couch-locked or seeing stars (unless you drink a few too many).
How much THC is in a can?
Each 12 oz can contains 5mg of Delta-9 THC derived from hemp — just enough to help you relax and feel good.
How long does it take to feel the effects?
Most people feel something in about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your metabolism, tolerance, and whether you've eaten.
Is this legal?
Yes! Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-derived THC is federally legal as long as it meets specific thresholds. We stay fully compliant with state and federal laws — but always check your local regulations.
Can I travel with this?
Maybe. While it's federally legal, laws can vary by state and even by airline. When in doubt, leave it out.
Will this show up on a drug test?
Yes. Even though it's hemp-derived, THC is still THC, and most drug tests don’t care where it came from.
Can I drink this and drive?
Absolutely not. THC impairs judgment and reaction time. Please treat this like alcohol or any other intoxicant — enjoy it responsibly and never operate a vehicle under the influence.
How many should I drink?
Start with one and see how you feel. Everyone reacts differently, and our cans are dosed to give a smooth experience. You can always have another, but you can’t un-have the third one.
Can I mix it with alcohol?
We don’t recommend it. Mixing THC and alcohol affects everyone differently, and it’s easy to overdo it. Trust us — this drink is fun enough on its own.
